Melbourne Storm on Monday granted Matthew Lodge an immediate release from his contract.
Lodge, who has played predominantly in the NYC competition this year, was contracted to the Storm until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old prop will return to Sydney where he will link with the Wests Tigers.
