Melbourne Storm halfback Cooper Cronk has said talks with the Club regarding his contract beyond this season are continuing to evolve.
“We are in discussions with the Club… it’s evolving, it’s developing and there is some progress there,” Cronk said.
“I can’t give you a date or some timelines or anything like that but the word is that it is progressing.
“It is a process that will continue to evolve. I respect that it is a topic that people want to know about and discuss, I’m not hiding from that but there are some parts of the contract negotiations that will remain confidential.”
Be at AAMI Park when Storm host the Knights on Saturday 2 April from 3pm.
Always the elite professional, Cronk’s main focus for now is to lead Storm on a strong start to the season.
The 32-year-old is determined to improve himself on-field first and foremest, and is confident that contract talk will sort itself out in due time.
“I am not exactly stoked with the level of my performance in the last four weeks. There probably is a little bit of weight, not trying to shy away from it, it is a bit of a big decision ahead of me but I’m professional enough,” Cronk said.
“I’m blessed and fortunate to play the game I love so in due course there will be a decision made but right now I don’t know when that will be.
“Out of respect for Melbourne Storm, my situation and our relationship over a number of years I think the specifics will remain behind closed doors and in due time it will be announced.”
Storm take on the Knights at AAMI Park this Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
