Their last four meetings have seen the ledger split at two-a-piece, making Sunday’s trip to Hunter Stadium a difficult prospect for Melbourne.
“The last three or four times we’ve met them they’ve really aimed up against us,” Craig Bellamy said.
“We’ve been around the top four or six and they’ve been up the other end but they’ve caused us all sorts of problems. We are obviously aware of that but having said that we need to put that in the back of our minds and make sure we prepare well.
“We’ve come off a bye, that can be a real advantage to you but if you don’t get back into footy mode pretty quickly it will work against you.”
Storm have won just two of their last five games at Hunter Stadium.
The Knights will take plenty of confidence out of their trip down to AAMI Park earlier this year.
Newcastle lead for much of the game before Storm scored two late tries to take the two points.
With the chance to move three games clear inside the top two, Melbourne will arrive in Newcastle with everything to play for.
