Not only was there a big crowd on hand at AAMI Park for Storm’s blockbuster against Cronulla on the weekend but the game also broke a number of records on TV.
Broadcast by Fox Sports, the playoff between Storm and the Sharks for the Minor Premiership became the most watched NRL game on subscription TV ever with 486,000 viewers tuning in. It also became the most watched subscription TV event of the year across all channels.
The peak of 569,000 viewers during the second half saw Storm and the Sharks match-up become the ninth most watched Fox Sports broadcast ever.
