The top 10 moments of the 2016 NRL season:
1. Rd 26 v Cronulla Sharks – Winning the minor premiership
In the penultimate round of the NRL season, the Sharks came to town in a playoff for the Minor Premiership. The biggest home crowd of the season, more than 24,000, came to AAMI Park that night. It would be one full of fond memories for the purple faithful as Cheyse Blair scored two tries in his return to the side. Storm ultimately ran out 26-6 winners in a clinical display to capture the Club’s fifth Minor Premiership in 11 years.
2. Cooper Cronk 300 games
Storm’s preliminary final against Canberra doubled in importance given it was also Cooper Cronk’s 300th NRL game. Only 24 players before him had achieved the illustrious milestone and the 33-year-old more than deserved all the accolades that came his way. Cronk put in what was arguably a best afield performance, scoring a try to get Storm on their way in the 32nd minute of the game.
