Dale Finucane is in the sights of NSW selectors himself but is adamant his teammate in the No.5 must have one hand on a Blues jersey.
Josh Addo-Carr only enhanced his claims to an Origin debut next month when he scored all three of Melbourne's tries on Sunday.
The Foxx was at his finishing best to take his season tally to 11 tries, the equal most of any player in the competition after the opening nine rounds.
It is a run of form that Finucane believes is worthy of rugby league's biggest stage.
"I think he thoroughly deserves it," said the Storm lock.
"Everyone knows his attacking ability but his defensive ability for us has been really good this year, he has come up with a number of try savers.
"He can score tries from anywhere on the field... I definitely don't think he would look out of place."
Storm take on the Gold Coast Titans this Saturday as part of the NRL Double Header at Suncorp Stadium.
