Friday night’s Melbourne Storm blockbuster will proceed as planned with an exemption provided for the Broncos to enter Victoria overnight.
Storm CEO, Justin Rodski, said it was great to have the support of both the Victorian Government and the NRL to keep the game at AAMI Park.
“We are thrilled to confirm our Good Friday blockbuster against the Broncos will go ahead as planned,”
Justin Rodski Storm CEO
“It has been a challenging couple of days working through the implications of the COVID situation in Brisbane, but we have been in constant contact with the NRL and Victorian Government during this period and appreciate the difficult decisions that need to be made when it comes to protecting the community from COVID.
“Thankfully, the NRL have worked through the protocols required to ensure the Broncos can secure an exemption and the game can proceed.” Rodski said.
For all of our members and fans, tickets and member redemptions will not be impacted and the stadium remains at 75% capacity for the game. There are still tickets available here.
Melbourne Storm are partnering with the Good Friday Appeal this year to help raise important funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Storm’s major partner RedZed has also thrown its support behind the Good Friday Appeal, matching dollar for dollar - up to $50,000 - every contribution made by donors to Storm’s fundraising for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
