Cooper Johns will continue his NRL career with Melbourne Storm in 2022 after signing a one-year contract extension today.
The 22-year-old has added another five NRL appearances this season – all during Storm’s record-equalling 19-game winning streak - to take his career tally to seven since making his debut in round 15 last year.
The round 12 victory against Brisbane featured his first NRL try in the purple jersey.
Johns has also amassed 34 games for Sunshine Coast Falcons in the Intrust Super Cup.
Storm General Manager – Football Frank Ponissi said: “Cooper has continued to develop his game this season.
“He had four starts in the halves during a critical part of our season and showed the improvement that we have seen him display in training.
“He’s definitely deserved this contract extension as a member of our top 30 squad and we expect Cooper to continue to grow as a half during the next 12 months.”
