Bolts return on 2022 Member jersey

The bolts will return in 2022 with the winning design in our Member Jersey competition voted by YOU!

Storm Member Josh Flood’s purple and navy design, with electric yellow lightning bolts was the standout winner among the Melbourne faithful with over 40% of the votes!

After kicking-off in June 2021, 118 entries for the right to design the Club’s 2022 Member Jersey flooded in with Storm players and staff selecting a shortlist of four designs to be voted on with Flood’s design coming up trumps.

The words ‘Thank you Storm members’ are inscribed across the sleeves of the jersey as recognition of the Club’s appreciation towards its passionate member base.

‘I designed the jersey with the aim of keeping it faithful to past jerseys but also adding a more prominent emphasis on the yellow lightning bolts that a lot of fans have been hoping for,” Flood said of his jersey design.

“Knowing that most of our home jerseys in recent times have had some sort of chevron element I decided to use the lightning bolts in that fashion, having them create a sort of V-shaped lightning design.

Ultimately, the opportunity to design a jersey that I would be proud to wear but also a jersey that the players would be proud to wear is something that I as a member am grateful for.

A subtle nod to Storm’s home, AAMI Park is also included in the design with a triangle pattern included at the bottom of the jersey which represents the stadium’s iconic exterior.

The side will wear the 2022 Member Jersey in their Round 15 home game at AAMI Park against the Broncos on Friday, June 17 and Round 24.

The jersey is available to purchase from the Club's online store now, so secure yours to rep your purple pride! Get
