Storm coach Craig Bellamy has made a number of changes to his squad for the Beanies for Brain Cancer Round match against Manly on Thursday night.
Chris Lewis has been selected in the starting back-row, replacing Felise Kaufusi who is unavailable after travelling to the United States to be with his father who is hospitalised in Los Angeles.
It will be Lewis’s first start of 2022 following 10 consecutive games on the interchange bench.
Five-eighth Cameron Munster (AC joint irritation) has been named in the No.6 jersey with a final decision on his fitness to be made closer to gameday.
Jayden Nikorima is on standby, named in the No.14 jersey as he closes in on what would be a Storm debut.
Storm’s other Representative Round players have all been included in the squad of 22, with Kiwi hooker Brandon Smith set to play his 100th game for Melbourne – the 40th player to reach that milestone for Storm.
Smith will wear the No.13 jersey against the Sea Eagles.
Both Nelson Asofa-Solomona and Tui Kamikamica have been named on the interchange bench with Josh King set to start in the front-row
The other withdrawal from the Storm team that defeated the Brisbane Broncos in round 15 is bench forward Trent Loiero, who has a back complaint.
Ryan Papenhuyzen has been named on the extended bench as he gets closer to playing his first NRL match since round nine after being hit with knee and hamstring injuries, as well as a bout of COVID, while Tom Eisenhuth, who has overcome his calf injuries, could also return to the 17 for the first time in 2022.
Catch the game live on Nine, Gem, Fox Sports and Kayo.
