Melbourne Storm’s exceptional membership growth in the 2022 NRL season has created another record – the highest membership tally ever recorded by an NRL club.
With more than 10,000 new members signing on this year, Storm’s membership count now sits at 37,237, surpassing the previous record held by the Brisbane Broncos who had 36,420 members in the 2018 season.
Last month, Storm became number one in the NRL for membership for the first time and the club is now within sight of its target of 40,000 members in 2022.
Storm CEO Justin Rodski said: “We are incredibly appreciative of the support we have received from our loyal and passionate Storm members.
They have backed our club in record numbers again this year, lifting us to a position where no other NRL club has previously been.

“We have experienced growth of 31% year-on-year which is exceptional and we believe there is still plenty of scope for more growth to come.”
Storm’s membership has more than doubled since the 2016 season when just over 17,000 members were signed up – a club record at the time.
More than 32,000 of Storm’s members are located in Victoria.
Around 6,200 members have been with the club for at least a decade.
Storm will be at home at AAMI Park on Sunday with a Round 18 clash against the Canberra Raiders which will also see the return of club great Cameron Smith, who will have the eastern grandstand named in his honour.
The 2022 home games schedule ends with a Round 21 meeting with the Gold Coast Titans (August 5) followed by a Round 24 match-up with the Sydney Roosters (August 26) which will be celebrated as Storm’s Member Thank-you Round.
