First-year Storm player, Josh King is set to mark his 100th NRL game this Friday night when the Melbourne side face the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.
Ever humble in his achievements, the prop shared the milestone snuck up on him with his focus remaining on enjoying and improving his footy.
“It has come really quick, but I was honestly not even thinking about it,” King said.
“This year I’ve been really enjoying my footy and I still feel like there's so much for me to learn and grow on.”
Born in New South Wales, King began his professional career in the mining industry with becoming a rugby league player only existing in his junior days for the Singleton Greyhounds.
In 2014, his foray into footy began, playing for the Newcastle Knights NYC team, before graduating to their NSW Cup team in 2015.
Showing promise, the prop was promoted to the Knights' first-grade team in Round 7 of the 2016 season, also against the Broncos, and finished his debut season with a solid 12 appearances.
Playing 79 games for the NSW-based team, King made the switch to Melbourne Storm at the end of the 2021 season.
From winning the Iron Bar in the Club’s notorious IDQ camp, to going on to make his debut in Round 1 of the 2022 season against the Wests Tigers, King has been a regular and reliable feature in Storm’s run-on side.
