Melbourne Storm is proud to be supporting The Disability Trust and NRL Victoria in kicking off the third season of Score Storm.

A ‘come and try’ clinic for people with disabilities will be held this Saturday, September 3rd, in conjunction with the NRL Victoria Grand Final Day to be played in Officer.

Score Storm Program Coordinator, Amelia Ansell, said the clinic provides an opportunity for participants to learn the game of rugby league in a supported setting and will include activities such as kicking and passing drills and games.

“The come and try day will be an opportunity to gauge interest as we aim to offer a weekly program where participants can come together and develop their skills on the field and build new social connections as part of being in the program,” Amelia said.

“Our aim is to establish a program that gives our participants a chance to play against the Score Dragons & Score Raiders programs in Melbourne. Both the interstate teams play in their local junior rugby league competition on a weekly basis, inclusive of Grand Final days and play games against one another twice a year as part of curtain raisers for NRL games.”

Storm CEO, Justin Rodski, said the Club was proud to support the Score Storm program.

Rugby league is an inclusive game that can make a real difference in our community, whether through playing, coaching or volunteering,

“We want to give everyone who wants the chance to be involved to be given that opportunity, whether socially or at the elite level. Score Storm gives this opportunity to people with a disability and we are pleased to be able to support The Disability Trust and NRL Victoria in delivering this program.”
