As the 2022 Melbourne Storm Cameron Smith Player of the Year and Dally M Five-Eighth of the Year, 2022 was a season like no other for Cameron Munster.
Appearing almost everywhere and anywhere on the field, it’s no surprise Munster’s end-of-season stats read as impressively as anyone else in the competition. 11 tries, seven goals, 204 kicking metres, 1,094 receipts and 3,193 total run metres make up the Queenslander’s year in the purple jersey.
Alongside, 346 tackles with an 85% tackle efficiency Munster ensured he was not only a force with the ball in hand, but also defensively particularly when he made a late-season move to fullback following a season-ending injury to regular number one Ryan Papenhuyzen.
A mid-season call-up to pull on the Maroon jersey for the 15th time saw the five-eighth earn praise all throughout the rugby league community, securing a try and man-of-the-match performance in the series opener in Sydney.
Proving once again to be in top form, the 28-year-old went on to lead the Storm count in tackle-breaks (117), line-breaks (17) and was second in try-assists (16), line-break assists (15) and offloads (34).
Following his ninth season at the first-grade level, Munster shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon and is at the peak of his powers.
