Tepai Moeroa: Season in Review

Tepai Moeroa began 2022 as a constant fixture amongst Melbourne Storm’s forward pack.

However, after scoring his first try of the season in Round 8, the forward suffered a shoulder injury, ruling him out of the NRL line up for the remainder of the year.

Having already contributed 4 tackle breaks, 197 post-contact metres and 70 tackles with a strong 94.6% efficiency, Moeroa was on track for an impressive run.

In the back half of the year, the 27-year-old begun his footy return in the Queensland HostPlus Cup with Storm feeder club, the Sunshine Coast Falcons. Of his four appearances with the semi-finalists, the Cook Island international recorded 6 tackle breaks, another 196 post-contact metres, a 93.9% tackle efficiency and 487 total run metres.

Moeroa will cap off the 2022 season by representing his heritage with the Cook Islands squad in the upcoming World Cup in Leeds. The Islanders will kick off their campaign on Thursday 20 October against Wales at Totally Wicked Stadium.
