NRL membership record holder Melbourne Storm has enjoyed a record membership rollover for the 2023 season.
With kickoff to round one still over three months away, Storm has already signed up 15,169 members for the new season as it strives to match its record-breaking 2022 membership tally.
Storm broke new ground in leading the NRL in membership for the first time in 2022, becoming the first club in competition history to break the 40,000 members milestone before finishing the season with 41,108 members.
That total represented an increase of more than 14,000 members on the previous season’s record
Storm CEO Justin Rodski said that unprecedented level of support had continued through to the 2023 membership rollover.
“We are very proud and humbled to announce that we have set a new club record for membership rollovers for the upcoming season,” he said.
“We really value what our members bring to our club not only financially but the noise, colour and atmosphere they create on matchday.
“This is a great start towards reaching the 40,000 members milestone again next season when we have a range of special activities planned to celebrate our 25th anniversary year.
“On the field, we can look forward to watching this new generation of Storm stars who are focused on continuing our club’s success and, of course, once again they’ll be led by the game’s premier coach in Craig Bellamy.
“The majority of our NRL squad are back in full training and are full of energy. It won’t be long before we are down at Geelong for the opening trial game on February 12 and then at AAMI Park for our first home game of the new competition on March 11.”
