Team Announcement: Round 2 v Bulldogs

Last year’s Storm Rookie of the Year Tyran Wishart will take over the No.6 jersey when Melbourne returns to AAMI Park for the first time in 2023 against the Canterbury Bulldogs on Saturday night.

With Cameron Munster sidelined by a fractured finger, Wishart will partner Jahrome Hughes in the starting halves after coming off the interchange bench in Round 1.

Xavier Coates has been named on the wing after being replaced with an SC joint injury against the Eels.

Saturday night’s game will be the first in Storm colours at AAMI Park for Will Warbrick, Eli Katoa and Bronson Garlick, and the first as skipper at home for Christian Welch.

Forward Aaron Pene has been added to the interchange bench for his first game for Storm since 2021, while the extended bench includes former Cowboy Kane Bradley, who is on an on-going train and trial contract as the club battles a list of injuries to its outside backs.

Kick off is at 7.35pm and will follow a special celebration of Storm’s 25th anniversary season.
