Craig Bellamy chatted to the media ahead of Melbourne Storm's Saturday night clash with the Roosters.

Storm’s position on the table

“It's a different competition this year as I think the byes have obviously made the table a little bit lopsided at stages.”

“Hopefully over the next two or three weeks things settle down a little bit and we get a bit more of a gauge on where we're at as we've had some really good moments...but I think we've probably been a little bit inconsistent.”

Papenhuyzen’s return to training

“This week has been a big step forward for him as it looks like he's moving OK actually, I was a bit surprised earlier in the week on just how well he was moving as I didn't expect him to be moving like that.”

“He has been doing some stuff on his own but this is his first double [training session] with the team so hopefully he’ll keep progressing like he has.”

“It’s been very promising in the progress he’s made this week.”

Squad update post Origin and Round 19 bye

“With the byes and Origin I think sometimes the points table is a little bit warped, so we'll find out in the next two or three weeks where we're at and hopefully we can kick on from there.”

“The guys that didn't play Origin, they had a good rest last week, so they’ve come back fairly fresh early this week and had pretty good preparation.”
