After reaching 50 NRL games in last week's win over the Sydney Roosters, Tom Eisenhuth will now celebrate his 50th game in Storm colours when they face the Newcastle Knights this Saturday.
A Penrith junior who made his NRL debut in Round 24 of the 2012 season, Eisenhuth’s journey to 50 Storm games has been unlike many that have gone before him.
After that single NRL appearance for Penrith, Eisenhuth plied his trade for their NSW Cup side for several seasons before being released to join Storm effective immediately midway through the 2018 season.
Since gaining his opportunity at Storm, the 31-year-old hasn’t looked back, becoming part of Storm’s leadership group over the past two seasons and becoming a consistent performer.
After being part of the 2020 Premiership winning squad, his ability to play as an edge or middle forward has made him a versatile piece within the Storm squad, with his no fuss style of play setting the example for those around him.
He has also spent time representing Melbourne Storm’s feeder clubs, playing 11 games for the Easts Tigers and 9 games for the Sunshine Coast Falcons.
A qualified schoolteacher who enjoys reading or completing a crossword on away trips, Eisenhuth’s maturity and calm nature off the field has also made him a much-loved figure amongst the playing group.
