Season in Review: Alec MacDonald

Young gun Alec MacDonald continued to improve in leaps and bounds in his second season with Melbourne Storm.

Like his debut season, the lock pulled on the purple jersey in 12 matches and did his job in the Club’s new-look forward pack clocking in 260 tackles with 93.5% efficiency.

When not in the NRL contingent, MacDonald continued to dominate the field in the Queensland HostPlus Cup, with Storm’s feeder club the Easts Tigers.

In his eight appearances, the Queenslander continued to produce consistently strong results, recording two tries and 19 tackle breaks, alongside the inaugural Paul Green Medal in Round 22.

He also went on to add a new position to his resume with a stint at centre in Round 14, ending the match with 214 run metres and 98 post-contact metres under his belt.
