Season in Review: Tariq Sims

As Melbourne Storm became the fourth club for Tariq Sims to proudly represent, the veteran also took to the NRL field for the final time in 2023.

After long-time forwards departed the Club at the beginning of the year, Sims replenished Storm’s experience with 221 first-grade games deposited back to Craig Bellamy’s new-look forward pack.

A pre-season calf injury delayed the 33-year-old's start to the year, going on to become Storm player #230 in Round 3 where he quickly scored an exciting first try in the purple jersey. Followed by 14 more appearances on the big stage, the Gerringong Lions junior rounded out his season with 95% tackle efficiency and 1000 run metres.

When not on the NRL field, the former junior Kangaroos representative kept a routine with Storm’s Queensland HostPlus feeder team, the Brisbane Tigers. Never experiencing a loss throughout his seven appearances up north, Sims laid down three tries and 185 tackles with 97% efficiency.
