Bellamy's Round 8 Rundown

Catch all the best bits from Craig Bellamy’s chat with the media ahead of the Club’s Anzac Day clash against the Rabbitohs on Thursday.

Facing the Rabbitohs on ANZAC Day

“It’s a real privilege and honour to be able to go out there on such an important day in Australia's history and New Zealand's history as well, so hopefully with that honour that we've got, we can do a good job of playing our part.”

“It doesn’t matter where the two teams are in the competition table, it's an important game and we're very privileged to be playing on the ANZAC Day so we're just going to go out there and give a really good performance.”

"They’ve got a lot of talented players in that team and they've had a bye so they've had a chance to regroup and build their energy up but we're just basically concerned about what we need to do, how we need to do it and just make sure we get it done.”

Storm’s in-form spine

"They've been going good and yeah we've had some really good spines before but the games not the same, every couple of years it changes... but we're really happy with the way they're going and hopefully they can keep it up tomorrow night.”

“Sometimes the risks are okay and other times they're not, so we just need to refine and define what those risks are and how much value we get out of it but as I said, they're obviously really talented players and they've got the team at heart so that's the main thing.”

Tui Kamikamica’s injury return

"It always surprises everyone when Tui gets hurt but I think he gets into the Kava and that seems to work pretty well for him but yeah he's run well so not quite sure [if he’ll return] next week or if the week after might be safer. We're not going to take any chances on him.”

Dale Finucane’s retirement

“He's just been a wonderful player for the clubs that he's played for and he’s also just been awesome for the game.”

“I've never seen anyone prepare like him and whatever he got out of the game he earned because he worked bloody hard for it and he's one bloke I'll always admire greatly not because of the heights he got too but for just how much hard work he had to put in.”
