Star winger Xavier Coates may be a chance to return to the Melbourne Storm side in time for Magic Round, pending his return to full training later this week.

Storm’s General Manager of Football, Frank Ponissi, shared the news in his weekly injury update, adding the return of Coates would be a bonus for the squad as they prepare to travel north.

“He's a player that loves playing at Suncorp Stadium. He’s a Queenslander and he'll be a great addition if he gets through this week,” Ponissi said.

Frank Ponissi injury report: Magic Round

Jahrome Hughes will continue to nurse a minor calf strain as he looks to begin back at full-time training.

“If Hughesy can get through next week, he's a chance playing against Manly,” Ponissi added.

“If there's any doubt we're going to hold him off because we have got a bye after Manly, so we don't want to risk him with further injury.”

Following on from last week’s injury update, Tepai Moeroa and Aaron Pene will remain on the sideline with their return dates yet to be set in stone.

Like Hughes, Marion Seve will also hopefully be available for selection next week, if not after the Club’s upcoming bye.

After successful surgeries, Ryan Papenhuyzen and Jonah Pezet continue their rehabilitation journeys.
