Junior Rep Report: Round 15

In a Thursday night clash at PointsBet Stadium, Storm’s Jersey Flegg side fought back against the Sharks but came up short 34-20 in Round 15.

The Under-21’s battled to the last minute to give the Sharks a slight scare, scoring four tries during the clash but ultimately ran out of time as they tried to chase points late in the contest.

Storm came out strong out of the gates, K-CI Newton-Whare scoring in the 8th minute to give them an early lead.

Sharks then made Storm pay for an error coming out of trouble, five-eighth Taj Ford slicing through in the 19th minute on the right edge to tie up the score.

The Sharks then continued to find success, scoring the next five tries to jump out to a 34-6 lead.

Storm never stopped battling away however, Siulagi Pio making his mark for the night and flying through the Sharks line following a chip over the top and sliding over in the 60th minute.

Tries to Oscar Amosa and fullback Hugo Peel ensured Storm left the contest on a bright note but were ultimately left too much to do, the fulltime scoreline reading 34-20.

The Storm will now travel to Fiji to play the Silktails at Prince Charles Park on Saturday.
