Melbourne Storm shareholder and board member, Gerry Ryan has been inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame overnight. 

Gerry was one of eight new members inducted into the Sport Hall of Fame, which is recognised as one of the highest honours in Australian sport. 

Gerry has a genuine care and unwavering passion for Storm and it’s people. Together with the Club’s other shareholders, his contribution over the last decade and beyond has helped to transform Storm to become one of the most successful and respected sporting teams in the country. 

His generosity and support also extends well beyond Storm; he has made significant contributions to various sports, including road and track cycling, basketball, horse racing, and AFL, where he passionately supports his beloved Saints.

The Sport Hall of Fame includes an elite class of inductees across a range of sports and categories. Gerry was inducted as a general member for his contribution to Sports Administration, which is reflected in the list of honours below:  

1998: Made a Life Member of the St Kilda Football Club
2000: Awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia
2013: Awarded the Australian Olympic Committee Order of Merit
2015: Inducted into the Cycling Australia (AusCycling) Hall of Fame
2022: Made a Life Member of Melbourne Storm
