17 years strong, Ponissi signs on

Melbourne Storm today announced long-serving Director of Football, Frank Ponissi, has extended his time with the Club marking the anniversary of the day he started 17 years ago.

Ponissi commenced his role at the Storm in November 2007, forming one of the most successful high-performance partnerships in Australian sport together with head coach, Craig Bellamy.

During his time at the Storm, Melbourne has won four premierships, reaching the finals in the last 14 seasons and, in more recent times, he has overseen the introduction of Storm’s male pathways and junior representative programs.

Ponissi said he was looking forward to seeing the results of the new pathways programs come to life in the years ahead.

“I thoroughly enjoy and am highly motivated by the people that I work with, and I very much want to be part of continued success with the club,” Ponissi said.

“I am also exceptionally passionate and very excited about driving our Pathways Program that we commenced just over 12 months ago.”

Ponissi has agreed to a five year extension keeping him at Storm until the end of the 2029 season.
