Melbourne Storm’s Jersey Flegg side made it two wins to start the season on Saturday with a 30-20 win over the Bulldogs.

It was the second road win in as many weeks for Mark Russell’s team who currently sit fourth on the U21 ladder ahead of their first home match of the season at Seabrook Reserve this weekend.

Jak Goulding game thee visitors a dream start to the match, scoring in the opening minute of play, before an Eli Morris penalty goal further extended the early Storm lead.

The Bulldogs hit back midway through the half after Patrick Young found the try line but it wasn’t long before the visitors were able to return serve through Mitch Jennings who gave his side some breathing space.

Controlling proceedings after the half time break, Ioane Lui scored his second try in as many weeks while prop Suli Pole was damaging close to the line as the young Storm side kicked further ahead, putting the result all but beyond doubt.

Late tries to Canterbury reduced Storm’s final margin however it was still a critical two points the Storm side were able to bring back to Melbourne ahead of a match-up with the Tigers in Round 3.
