Melbourne Storm has provided an injury update following their Round 3 encounter with Penrith on Thursday night.

Scans have today confirmed Jahrome Hughes suffered a broken hand during Storm’s 30-24 win over the Panthers at AAMI Park. The halfback sustained the injury during the first half but played on, he will have surgery tomorrow and is expected to miss two matches.

Centre Nick Meaney will be sidelined for four to six weeks after scans confirmed a facial fracture following a collision during the first half last night. Meaney left the field in the 35th minute against Penrith and did not return.

Making his return from suspension, Nelson Asofa-Solomona failed a head injury assessment post-match and will enter NRL concussion protocols.

Grant Anderson has been cleared of serious injury – he will be monitored during the week in regards to his availability for Round 4.

Storm’s next match will be against the Dragons in Sydney on Saturday 29 March.
