Melbourne Storm and New Zealand Warriors will battle it out on Sunday afternoon for the Michael Moore Trophy, a tradition between the two clubs since 2000.
Awarded to the winning team, the trophy honours Storm’s inaugural Football Manager, Michael Moore, who tragically passed away in Auckland on the night of 2000 season’s opening round clash.
This year marks 25 years since Moore's passing, the legacy and influence he left at the club still continues to live on.

The trophy will be presented by Michael's family post-match, symbolising the passion and love he had for the club, and the role he played in setting the foundations of the Melbourne Storm and what the club stands for today.
During the week, the Club got together to hear from past players Peter Robinson, Ben Roarty as well as current Director of Football Frank Ponissi about Mick and the influence in had on the club’s foundations.
Melbourne has gone on to win the trophy 32 times and the Warriors 12 times, alongside two draws. Storm have retained the trophy since 2016.
The trophy will again be presented following Sunday's match to the winning team and Captain on the field at AAMI Park.
